Production Case Study · Studio Z
A 180-second holographic illusion, 26 songs of custom content, and six technical departments locked to one cue sheet. Hall of Fame, BICC, Dhaka.

01 — The Brief
Two Icons. One Stage. No Precedent.
Warfaze built heavy metal in Bangladesh. Formed 1984, eight albums, and in February 2026 the first band in the country’s history to receive the Ekushey Padak. This was their first solo concert since the honour, in their 42nd year.
The catalogue they chose to play was Michael Jackson’s — the most precisely produced pop repertoire on earth, arranged into a Bangladeshi rock idiom. Michael Imran fronted the tribute set, the same performer Bangladesh knows as MJ from Ityadi and the Jump Keds commercial.
Studio Z was engaged to make that collision legible. Visual content for every song. Live VJ across three hours. And one thing nobody had put on a concert stage in Bangladesh before.
02 — The Challenge
26 Songs. Two Identities. One Rig.
The night ran as two hours of Michael Jackson followed by one hour of Warfaze. Sixteen songs, then ten. Two entirely different visual languages sharing a single LED wall, a single lighting rig, one media server and one operator.
The setlist locked five days out. Three songs entered it that had never been in the working bank — with no content, no palette, no choreography reference and no costume note attached to them.
A show like this is not won on equipment. It is won on whether every department is working from the same document.
03 — The Approach
Previsualise. Document. Then Build.
Previsualisation
The full stage existed in 3D before load-in — LED wall, truss and fixture positions, runway, audience geometry, light throw. Sightline conflicts, projector throws and movement lanes were resolved in a file weeks ahead, not on the floor with seven crews waiting.
A Locked Colour Language
Studio Z produced a per-song colour guide across three revisions, used simultaneously by the lighting console and the video rig. Every song’s palette was agreed in writing a month before the show. No live negotiation, no two departments guessing differently.
One Master Reference
Riders, briefing agendas, the colour guide, the choreography guide and the visual notes were consolidated into a single Show Guide Book the night before the event — so on show day, one document answered every question.

05 — The Holographic Segment
180 Seconds That Held the Room
Michael Jackson’s hologram debuted in Las Vegas in 2014 — six months of build, a Hollywood production team, and the backing of his estate. Twelve years later, Studio Z put a live holographic illusion on a concert stage in Dhaka.
A holographic illusion is not a visual effect. It is a light agreement. It exists only inside an exact condition, which means every other department gives something up for the duration — the console holds a precise state, follow spots stand down, cameras respect a boundary, choreography stays inside a line the audience cannot see, and the audio cue lands on the frame rather than near it.
Which is why it appeared in the riders, the colour guide and the choreography guide a month before it appeared in the room.
