Studio Z BD Offers Technical Direction for Immersive Shows and Experiences
Studio Z BD has formalised Technical Direction as a standalone service line. Founder and Technical Director Zunayed Sabbir Ahmed is now engaged directly by organisers, agencies and corporates as Technical Director for concerts, brand launches, expos and immersive productions in Bangladesh.
01What technical direction covers
The Technical Director is the single technical authority on a production.
The role directs lighting, LED, sound, camera, crew, choreography support and visual production. It sets technical requirements before procurement. It runs the vendor coordination. It produces the technical documentation the entire production executes from. It advances the venue and validates the stage before load-in.
It also does something organisers rarely get from a vendor: it optimises the project. A Technical Director sees where a budget is being spent on capacity that will never be used, and where a small technical decision unlocks a much larger result.
Outside the scope. The role does not cover budget ownership, contracts, ticketing, sponsor obligations or venue operations. Those remain with event and production management.
02Why this is a separate service
Studio Z has delivered immersive production since 2015. Projection mapping, LED pixel mapping, laser mapping, holography, live VJ, interactive installations.
Technical Direction is a different job.
On a production where Studio Z supplies visual content and holography, Studio Z is one vendor among several. The Technical Director sits above all of them — including Studio Z. Separating the two roles keeps the authority clean and keeps the client’s interest first.
An organiser can therefore hire Studio Z for production, hire Zunayed Sabbir Ahmed for technical direction, or hire both. Each stands alone.
03Why corporates and event managers need one
Bangladeshi productions have become genuinely complex. A single corporate launch now routinely involves an LED vendor, a lighting house, a sound company, a camera crew, a content studio and a stage fabricator. Six companies. Six languages. Six sets of assumptions.
Nobody in that list is responsible for the whole.
Without a Technical Director, that responsibility defaults to the event manager, who is already carrying the client, the budget, the venue and the timeline. Technical decisions then get made late, in the venue, under pressure, by whoever speaks loudest.
With a Technical Director, those decisions are made weeks earlier, on paper, by someone accountable for the result.

05Proven at national scale
Zunayed Sabbir Ahmed brings fourteen years and more than 400 productions in Bangladesh, plus twenty-plus international shows across Nepal, Thailand and Qatar.
Studio Z’s production record under his direction includes Mujib100 at the National Parade Ground, German Unity Day, Joy Bangla Concert, HSBC “Together We Rock”, the TCL Bangladesh and Redmi 15 launches, and the Akij Tableware Business Summit 2025. Clients include Unilever, HSBC, Samsung, Robi, bKash, BAT, ACI, Beximco, Akij Group and the Goethe-Institut.
He is the first certified trainer in South Asia endorsed by Resolume, MadMapper and HeavyM, and authored the first Bengali-language book on projection mapping.
Most recently he served as Technical Director on the Warfaze × Michael Jackson tribute at Hall of Fame, BICC — a 26-song production across six vendor teams that included the first live holographic illusion built for a concert stage in Bangladesh.
A holographic illusion is not a visual effect. It is a light agreement.
Delivering one requires every department to give something up at the same moment, which is precisely why it needs a technical director rather than a supplier.

07How engagement works
Technical Direction is engaged per project. Involvement begins at planning, not at load-in. Earlier engagement produces materially better results, because most technical problems are inexpensive to solve on paper and expensive to solve in a venue.

What is the difference between a Technical Director and a production manager?
A production manager runs the operation — budget, contracts, logistics, venue. A Technical Director runs the technical system across all departments. The roles are complementary and are normally held by different people.
Does the Technical Director replace our existing vendors?
No. Vendors keep executing their own disciplines. The Technical Director gives them a coordinated technical plan and one point of authority.
