In December 2021, the Ministry of Liberation War, Bangladesh partnered with Studio Z to create a larger-than-life tribute at the National Parliament, Dhaka, marking BD50 celebrations. This two-day event on 16–17 December 2021 set a new benchmark for projection mapping in Bangladesh, turning the iconic parliament building into an immersive visual canvas.
The Ministry’s vision was clear: honor the nation’s history with a spectacular, never-before-seen visual experience. The challenge, however, was immense. Locally sourcing design and concept for such a large-scale installation, coordinating multiple agencies—Asiatic Events Marketing Ltd (Dec 16) and Grey Advertising Ltd (Dec 17)—and ensuring consistency across different production teams required precise planning and expertise.
Studio Z’s creative solution included:
- Producing over 70% of the aired content, ensuring high-quality visuals.
- Creating a projection mapping guide for technical teams and agency coordination.
- Communicating with multiple studios to manage additional segments seamlessly.
From a technical execution standpoint, Studio Z handled complete content production and consultancy, providing a roadmap for every projection and ensuring that the final display met the highest standards of precision and creativity.
The audience experience was awe-inspiring. Citizens and guests witnessed a monumental projection show on the National Parliament, blending history, art, and technology in a way never seen before in Bangladesh. The event not only celebrated BD50 but also set a record for the largest branded visual display in the country, cementing Studio Z’s leadership in large-scale immersive experiences.
For Studio Z, this project was both an honor and a milestone. “We are grateful to the Government of Bangladesh for trusting us to paint the biggest canvas in the country,” says the team. This event demonstrated how projection mapping Bangladesh can be leveraged for government events, national celebrations, and large-scale public installations.Watch the historic BD50 Parliament Projection here:
