Overview — When Internal Launches Become Full-Scale Brand Experiences

On 16 December 2025, Abul Khayer Group Ltd hosted a large-scale Internal Employee Engagement, Service Launch, and New Product Pack Launch at Le Méridien Dhaka, curated by Aktivision Ltd.

The event brought together the company’s top sales force and internal leadership to unveil multiple strategic initiatives in a single evening.
Studio Z led special performances, song visuals, brand adaptation, live VJ operations, and advanced Gambit laser-LED visuals, transforming internal communication into a high-energy immersive show experience.

Rather than a conventional internal meeting, the evening unfolded like a premium brand launch, designed to inspire, energize, and align teams.

Client Goals & Challenges

The Vision

Abul Khayer Group Ltd wanted to:

Fully immerse employees in a branded, future-forward environment

Launch multiple initiatives in one cohesive show:

Aron — internal employee software

Apex — advanced internal technology platform

A new product pack of a popular cigarette brand

A confidential star appearance as a surprise moment

Motivate and emotionally connect with the top sales force

The Challenges

Managing multiple launches without breaking show momentum

Maintaining confidentiality and suspense until exact reveal moments

Balancing information clarity with entertainment and excitement

The Creative & Technical Solution

Studio Z designed the event as a layered visual journey, where every segment felt unique yet part of a unified narrative.

1️⃣ Complete Visual Experiential Journey Production

Based on the approved show flow, Studio Z curated every cue with precision.
The audience was surrounded by LED pixel blocks displaying custom-crafted visuals, creating a fully immersive environment where each transition highlighted key moments and brand values.

2️⃣ Immersive Stage Show

From opening to finale, seamless immersive visuals maintained attention throughout the event.
Live audience participation data subtly influenced visual behavior, reinforcing engagement.

Studio Z produced more than five distinct show sequences, each designed as a standalone visual chapter to support different segments of the program.

3️⃣ Immersive Laser-LED Gambit Show

The product reveal was elevated through a laser-LED mapping performance — among the first of its kind in Bangladesh.

Laser beams visually “cut” shapes and lines across LED surfaces, gradually forming the new product pack live on stage, creating a dramatic and unforgettable reveal moment.

4️⃣ Custom Immersive Presentation

The Director of Marketing’s presentations featured custom immersive templates, ensuring that every slide deck felt visually fresh and engaging.
Each presentation carried a unique visual identity while remaining consistent with the overall brand language.

5️⃣ Custom Authentication Gimmick

To maximize anticipation, Studio Z designed a live authentication drama.
Senior officials unlocked a digital interface on stage, triggering the official launch sequence.

The moment was intentionally designed to briefly shock the audience, then ease into excitement and fun — creating a strong emotional contrast.

Results & Evidence — Engagement That Employees Remember

The event successfully redefined how internal launches are experienced within large organizations.

Employees remained highly engaged throughout a long, multi-segment program

Reveal moments generated strong applause, reactions, and visible excitement

The immersive environment strengthened emotional connection with new tools, technologies, and products

The laser-LED product reveal became one of the most talked-about moments of the evening, while the authentication gimmick ensured full audience focus during critical launches.

“This felt like a world-class brand launch, not an internal program.”
— Event Stakeholder, Abul Khayer Group Ltd

Lessons Learned & Next Steps

This project further refined Studio Z’s expertise in complex, multi-layer internal launch productions.

Key Takeaways

Internal audiences respond just as strongly to immersive storytelling as external ones

Breaking a long program into distinct visual chapters keeps energy high

Practical Insight

Designing separate visual identities within one unified show system helps audiences clearly understand multiple announcements.

What’s Next

The workflow developed for Abul Khayer Group Ltd is now being scaled for:

Large internal sales conferences

Multi-product and multi-service corporate launches

Employee engagement events requiring secrecy, suspense, and impact

Studio Z plans to evolve this approach into Enterprise-Grade Internal Launch Experiences for major organizations across Bangladesh.

All these amazing experiences were created involving the greatest Light Designers of the world. If that catches your mind, This video will help you to simplify the basics of Light Design. Mostly applicable for Concerts, Clubs, Events, theaters You will learn to fire at people, without getting anyone hurt 😉

What will we learn in here-

Basics of DMX Lighting,

What are lights in general,

How lights are connected and communicated

How lights are controlled,

To make you the commander of the war!

Types of Lighting Fixtures

Generally there are light fixtures like-

Par CANs, which emits a dimmable light, that you can control.

LED Par CANs, which can do different colors and effects.

Moving heads, that can do many things, beside moving its head and point light, at your desired spot

There are Strobes and blinders, to get people blind, like the name says.

And MANY, MANY, MANY, MORE!

Types of FX Fixtures

We can and will also control many other special effect fixtures on stage, one of the essential is Haze Machine, that releases haze, whenever you need. Remember haze is your childhood buddy you need to make beams visible using haze.

How are Light Fixtures Set?

Lights are set in various ways. depending on stage and budget. One good start is T-Bars And maybe install a trussing as well.

What is a Channel ?

So far we are talking about controlling lights. Channel makes a fixture listen to your commands, that you are sending from a controller. Each channel has a range of 0-255, since it’s calculated using a binary system. We will need this info later, when making shows. For now just keep this in mind!

Explaining Channel

This basic Par came with one Channel. If you send 0 to this channel this will do nothing. But if you send full range, meaning 255 from your controller, This fixture will light up to its fullest!

If it’s a little more advanced, like this RGB LED PAR. This will have multiple channels, to conduct multiple tasks. Let’s stay, we put this fixture to 7 channel mode.

Now this fixture’s first channel,

will be Dimmer of the whole light.

Second channel is the Red.

Third one is the Green.

Fourth One is an effect.

So, we can create our custom color, by mixing RGB values from the controller. Or maybe dim them down, like ideally most of the time we should be …. (dramatic chime hit!)

Par Channel Explained

Moving heads come with more channels. Because moving heads have Pan-tilt data to control movement. If it’s a better fixture, this will have more features, like prism, gobo, fine pan, fine tilt, etc. you can use, through different channels.

Moving Heads with a lot of channels

What are Lighting Controllers?

Now let’s talk about controllers, used to control all the fixtures we talked about so far.

An important basics!

A controller is ONLY triggering variable values, and controls functions built inside a fixture. Means it sends simple data, Sometimes sending, little more critical data, than A Scientific Calculator!

In gross, there are two basic types of controllers.

Standard Light Controller

One is a hardware based controller, where you do everything with a hardware controller. You connect fixtures straight to it.

Another one is a software based controller. which uses a Laptop/PC or MAC to run great software. And output the signal to lights, using various connection protocols.

Light Control Software

And is a third type, blending both, taking to pro level, Are modern consoles which usually has a computer built inside to run the software, on a small window or raspberry machine.

Modern Fixture with computer

Or another approach is running software-based operations, on a Laptop and controlling it with external controls. This is comparatively affordable and flexible. Many great modern light designers, Fly with a laptop and a few dongles.

Light Control Software

What are Lighting Controllers?

So we understood so far that we have few lighting fixtures who can do various things using various channels. And we have a controller. So how do we communicate between them, And communicate to a specific fixture?

This is where the addressing system comes in. The addressing system allows you to, let’s say “Name” fixtures. So if the fixture is called 223, i mean the address is set to 223, From your controller, you can say “hey 223, your second and third channel is this, and dimmer channel this this” This light will listen to you, and do as u say. Not only this light, Any light connected to your system, Assigned to this same address will listen to u. So you can address fixtures differently, to control them individually or in group. Let’s say we put All these LED Parses to the same address, and control Moving heads, addressing them individually.

Addressing System

Hardware or Software, Each controller comes with a limited number of channels, So you will often have to address your fixtures, calculating the needs.

512 of these unique addresses for channels make one universe.

What is DMX Protocol?

This initial communication protocol, used for addressing lights is called DMX protocol. Which stands for Digital Multiplex.

What is Art-NET?

In modern days fixture addressing has become digital. Yet you might find classic fixtures, with this thing called dip switch. Using a certain combination of these switches, you can assign the address number of this fixture. You will find a link to convert the digital address, to a dip switch, if you run into your grandpa’s fixture!

Dip switch

What are DMX Cables and/or Connectors?

Ok so now we dive into learning, the basics of connecting the fixtures with your controller. Usually, fixture connection cables and connectors are called DMX, and there are two kinds of connectors currently being used. One is a 3 PIN, another other is 5 pins. For now, 3-pin lights do exactly the same thing, till today why in the world do we still have two types of fixtures, and can’t get into one standard format? I will tell u that funny story of ego some other day.

DMX cables and connectors are often confused with audio cables. Though they work, there is a difference you will run into sooner or later.

DMX Daisy Chain

How to connect DMX fixtures with controllers?

So you get DMX signals out of your controller and connect to a light. Each fixture comes with input DMX and outputs DMX. So you can output the DMX signal from this fixture and send it to, the input of the second fixture. This process is called the Daisy chain. So you can daisy chain a handful of fixtures. Until it’s too many, might interrupt your whole show, if one chain gets broken!

What is DMX Terminator?

Once we are done setting up daisy chaining fixtures we need to terminate the signal traveling, From controller through lights to lights, Using a terminator, Not THE Terminator, a device called terminator! So that the fixtures won’t act weird if the signal tries to travel back. Many of the modern fixtures have a terminator built in.

DMX Splitter

What are DMX Splitters?

When you use more fixtures that is why we use a device called a splitter, which is like a multiplug, but for lighting fixtures! Light Splitter splits the incoming signals to multiple outputs, For different destinations, and also adds additional power to make DMX signals stronger

What are multiple universes?

When you are installing More lights you can run out of available addresses in your DMX universe. This is where you add more lights in the second, third or fourth universe.

What is Art-NET?

DMX is a relatively old protocol, It’s harder and more expensive to get all these cables for larger installations. And the data transfer isn’t that high. Remember you are just triggering the functions built inside fixtures, So it’s just trigger data, unlike maybe audio patching being heavy That’s why in modern days, massive DMX connections have transitioned to Art-NET Which is a network-based protocol, which can transfer an unbelievable amount of lighting data Over a basic ethernet network, which is easy and cheaper And with Art-NET, lighting controllers also can communicate with visual displays and mechanical elements.

What is pre-visualization software?

If you want to design a light show in detail before the lights are set, it’s usually expensive to get all those fixtures beforehand and the venue is out of context!

To see it before, known as pre-visualize lighting and pre-program, there are few lighting simulation software available.

Capture,

WYSIWYG,

Realizzer – Now depence2

There are many unreal engine-based new age simulators available in stores for decent prices, as well”

Wrapping up!

Imagine yourself! Not just banging your head, sitting alone in your room, with your most favorite band, or dj playing on your headphones!

But You can convert this energy and design lights for them! because no one knows their song, more than you, their FANs do!

So express your creativity by learning lights! then call them, they are looking for a light designer like you!

If they don’t hire you, trust me better artists who understand the priority of lighting for their performance, will call you tomorrow!

What kind of lighting should I use for my stage lights? What types of stage lights are best suited for each situation? How do I choose the right lighting system for my stage?

Stage lighting is essential for every performance. Whether you’re performing at home or in front of thousands of people, you need to ensure that your audience sees clearly and appreciates your talent.

There are several types of stage lighting systems available today. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The choice depends on the size of the venue, the number of performers, and the budget.

What’s the goal of stage lighting?

When it comes to lighting the stage, there are many different types of stage lighting to take into consideration. A good event production or AV company can help you decide what lighting is best for your event and help you determine how to properly light a stage. Here are some stage lighting fundamentals you should be familiar with.

The goal of stage lighting is to create an environment that is conducive to the performer and the audience. The stage lighting should be able to set the mood and atmosphere of the performance. It should also be able to highlight the performer and the important elements of the performance.

Top 6 Types of Stage Lights

There are several types of stage lighting, including spotlights, floodlights, and backlights. Each type of light has its own purpose and can create different effects.

1. Spotlights

Spotlights are used to highlight specific areas or objects on the stage. They can be used to create a dramatic effect or to make sure that the audience can see a particular actor or object.

There are several different types of spotlights, including the ellipsoidal spot and the follow-spot. Each has a different purpose, and each can create a different effect on the stage.

An ellipsoidal spot has a round head. It is often used for modern shows and spectacles. A follow spot has a rectangular head. It is often used for traditional and interactive performance lighting.

2. Fresnel

In film and television productions, Fresnel stage lighting fixtures are frequently used because they produce a more diffused light. Additionally, it is utilized to highlight the stage. Although they can also produce more focused, narrower beams of light with a softer edge, these lights are a good option for washes. These lights are not compatible with shutters or patterns.

3. PAR can

A PAR can (parabolic aluminized reflector) is a common fixture in stage lighting. PAR cans are cylindrical metal casings that house sealed-beam lamps.

These lights are designed in a manner similar to vehicle headlights. PAR cans produce a broad beam of light, making them ideal for stage productions and live concerts.

4. Floodlights

Floodlights are used to evenly light the entire stage. They are often used to create a wash of the light that makes the stage look brighter.

5. Backlights

Backlights are used to create a sense of depth on the stage. They are often used to make sure that the audience can see the actors’ faces.

6. LED lights

Due to their low energy consumption and long lifespan, LED stage lighting fixtures are becoming more popular. LED stage lights are frequently made up of multiple LEDs that produce a bright and even light.

Many LED lights also allow the user to change the color of the light, which is ideal for stage productions requiring a variety of color schemes.

Finding the right stage light

To find the right light for your stage, you should first decide what you want to achieve. If you are hoping to create a more dynamic performance, you should consider using spotlights and floodlights. These lights are often used to highlight specific actors when they are performing.

If you are simply looking for a brighter stage, then you should consider using a backlight. This type of light is used to make sure that the audience can see the stage and all of the actors.

Spotlights and floodlights are typically used for modern shows and spectacles, while backlights are used for more traditional performances.

Choosing the right fittings

Spotlights, floods, and backlights all use different types of fittings. You should make sure that you choose the right fitting for your light.

A spotlight uses a Par lamp. It is often used for modern shows and spectacles. A flood uses a floodlamp. It is often used for performances. A backlight uses a follow-spot. It is often used for traditional performances.

Lighting positions

The lighting positions in stage productions are typically located at the front of the stage, to the left and right of the stage, and at the back of the stage. The front of the stage is typically where the majority of the lighting is located, as this is where the majority of the action takes place.

The left and right of the stage are typically used for accent lighting, while the back of the stage is typically used for background lighting.

How to work with a lighting designer

When working with a lighting designer, it is important to be clear about your vision for the project. You should also be prepared to discuss your budget and any specific needs that you have. It is also helpful to have some ideas about the types of lighting fixtures that you would like to use.

The lighting designer can help you to select the right fixtures and create a lighting plan that will meet your needs. Your lighting designer will often have a number of recommendations for appropriate light fixtures. These recommendations can be a great starting point, but you should also feel free to ask for other suggestions and to do your own research.

You may also want to ask your lighting designer to create a sample rendering of the finished project. This can be helpful when you are trying to visualize the final product. Your lighting designer will also be able to give you an estimate of how much the project will cost.

Speak to an expert

If you are not sure which types of stage lights are right for you, then you should contact an expert. These experts can help you decide what type of lighting you need for your stage. They can also help you find the right spotlights, floods, backlights, and fittings for your show.

Additionally, you can use these experts to ask any questions you have about stage lighting. They can help you understand what each type of light can do, how you can use it, and how you can get the most from your lighting.

A guide to stage lighting

Stage lighting is the craft of lighting the stage for a live performance. A stage lighting designer works with the director, choreographer, and set designer to create a lighting design that will complement the other elements of the production to create the desired atmosphere and look.

Stage lighting design is by no means an easy task. Lighting will not only be directly visible to the audience but also to the performers, and the style of lighting and the effects used must be decided upon carefully to suit the mood and atmosphere of the production.

Stage lighting design is not just about the stage itself, either. Lighting and effects are also used to create ambiance, mood, and atmosphere in the auditorium and foyer areas, as well as in the production areas backstage, along with the lighting rig itself.

How to Set Up Stage Lighting?

Lighting equipment used in stage lighting

Stage lighting is mainly electrical and is made up of a series of lights linked together. The lighting equipment used in stage lighting is generally smaller than that used for film or television. Because the lights will be seen by the audience and the number of lights used is also limited by the size of a theater’s lighting grid.

Lights in a lighting rig are typical of six types:

Source lights, which provide the light onto the stage.

Filler lights, which provide low-level lighting, are generally dimmer than the source lights, to help the source lights ‘fill’ the stage and set the mood.

Accent lights, which provide additional light for a specific area, for example to highlight a prop or special effect.

Backlights, which provide light from behind the performers.

Effects lights, which flash, strobe or move to create a visual effect.

Moving lights, which can be programmed to move to create a visual effect.

The lights themselves come in many shapes and sizes. A typical lighting rig will have a mixture of sources, fillers, accents, backlights; and effects, with some moving lights and a control desk, known as a lighting console, to control the lighting rig.

The lighting consoles

Automated light shows

The lighting console is the hub of all lighting design and control. The lighting designer will work with a lighting programmer to create a lighting plan. The lighting programmer, who works with the lighting designer and production manager, will then program the lighting cues into the lighting console.

The lighting programmer can then use the console to control the lights and change the lighting plan as the performance progresses. The lighting console can be operated manually, or by using a lighting computer, which allows the lighting programmer to control the lighting rig from a computer.

The lighting console is itself made up of two sections:

The control section, which is where all the lights are connected, and from where the lighting programmer can control the lighting rig

The processing section, which is where the computer is, and where pre-programmed lighting cues can be stored

The lighting programmer can then use the console to control the lights and change the lighting plan as the performance progresses. The lighting console can be operated manually, or by using a lighting computer, which allows the lighting programmer to control the lighting rig from a computer.

The lighting programmer

The lighting programmer must be fully versed in the technology of the lighting console and able to adapt their lighting plan to the available technology. They must be able to create and program lighting cues in the console, and use the console to control the lighting rig.

A lighting programmer will work closely with the lighting designer and production manager to create the lighting plan and program the lighting cues into the lighting console. They will program the lights to change color, intensity, and position at the right time, and to fade in and out with the action.

Lighting programmers will also have to create moving lighting effects and make sure that the lighting rig is safe, correctly wired and waterproofed. Lighting programmers will have to know how to connect and disconnect the lights and have a good understanding of how electrical equipment works.

A lighting programmer may also be required to help with other aspects of the lighting design. For example, they may be asked to design the lighting for the auditorium and foyer areas or to help with the construction of the lighting rig.

The lighting designer

The lighting designer is responsible for the lighting plan and the overall look of the stage lighting. The lighting designer will work with the director and choreographer and will have to take into account the mood and atmosphere of the production, as well as the way in which it is staged. The lighting designer will have to work closely with the lighting programmer to ensure that the lighting plan is effectively programmed into the lighting console.

A lighting designer will need to have an understanding of the technology used in lighting consoles and an understanding of lighting effects. Lighting designers will also need to have an understanding of what is needed in the lighting rig to create the desired atmosphere and look.

The lighting designer will also have to have a good understanding of how to stage a show and will need to be able to interpret the director’s vision.

The lighting designer will need to be able to work well with others, and must be able to work effectively on a tight budget, as the lighting design will be one of the most expensive elements of the production.

The lighting designer will need to know how to use CAD software and have good computer skills. Lighting designers will also need to be able to work effectively with a lighting programmer to ensure that the lighting design is realized.

Stage lighting techniques

Some common stage lighting techniques are:

Front light – A single light source placed in front of the performer, aimed at the performer’s face, chest, or both. This is the most common type of stage lighting and is used to create a basic stage lighting design.

Backlight – A single light source is placed behind the performer, aimed at the back of the performer’s head. Backlight creates a silhouette of the performer and can be used to create a more dramatic stage lighting design.

Sidelight – A single light source placed to the side of the performer, aimed at the performer’s face or chest. Side light can be used to create a more three-dimensional stage lighting design.

Spotlight – A focused light source that is used to highlight a specific area of the stage. Spotlights are often used to highlight a performer’s entrance or exit.

Floodlight – A diffused light source that is used to illuminate a large area of the stage. Floodlights are often used as backdrops or to create a wash of light.

Key lighting: This is the main source of light for the performers, and is usually provided by spotlights.

Key steps to set up the stage lighting

1. Choose your stage lighting fixtures.

2. Place your stage lighting fixtures around the stage.

3. Connect your stage lighting fixtures to the power source.

4. Turn on your stage lighting fixtures.

How to set up the stage lighting
